DeCuentos (OfStories) App is now available, created by Fundación GSR. Thirty video-stories selected from the selection at Canal Lector are now available to enjoy on the brand new App DeCuentos; created by Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez’s Centro Internacional del Libro Infantil y Juvenil (CILIJ).
This initiative reinforces Fundación GSR’s presence in oral narration and stories in the digital world. DeCuentos combines traditional and modern stories, told with a variety of techniques. In addition it will be continuously up-dated with new stories, and it can work at any time, from any tablet or smartphone.
DeCuentos has been specially thought out for families, it is attractive to children of all ages and it's ideal for them to enjoy it with their parents. Thanks to these reasons it is a very attractive resource for libraries and other spaces that work with children and their families. It is also convenient for children to learn to tell stories and to listen to their parents, teachers and librarians.
The App is defined by its simplicity, visual attractiveness, its intuitive nature and the variety of options, all of which give it an added value by catering it straight to the user’s needs. The menu has only three sections and the stories can be enjoyed without an Internet connection.
The App is free
for Apple and Android devices on their respective online stores, Google play and App Store, available on this link
. Each story can be downloaded on the device; once this is done an Internet connection is no longer necessary.
Belief in that which is fantastic and marvellous is essential to the global development of a child’s personality, a pivotal conviction at Fundación GSR
. As a result stories are one of the most important instruments of family life, schools or libraries, to help build solid development structures for the development of fantasy
