Vallcorba's love for the printed book

Jaume Vallcorba, editor of Acantilado, analyses the legacy of the renaissance genius Aldo Manuzio who, according to Vallcorba, managed to create the 'perfect frameworks' for his publications, and he explains the demanding nature of publishing in the world today.

Manuzio's art in publishing seeps from his ability to integrate his publications in a 'live and discursive catalogue', says Vallcorba. The founder of the publishing company Acantilado and Quaderns Crema attended Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez's Encounter With European Editors in April, 2013. During this visit he spoke to Canal Lector about the state of publishing , which he described as facing a 'digital hurricane'.

Jaume Vallcorba has received much recognition including the national prize Premio Nacional a la Mejor Labor Editorial Cultural del Ministro de Cultura in 2002 and eight years later he was awarded international recognition in Mexico with the Reconcimiento al Mérito Editorial de la Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara. Further resources and information can be found at Canal Lector.
